All-inclusive vacations mostly attract families and people with a limited budget. Normally in an all-inclusive vacation package, airfare from the departure destination, transportation between airport and hotel, accommodation charges and all the meals and drinks are included. In addition, all-inclusive packages generally include extra activities, such as the free inland tours and on-sight recreation.

All-inclusive vacations also include tips, government taxes and amusement and sports activities and related taxes. In some cases, gratuities may also be included. It is advisable to find a package that offers all gratuities; otherwise, the tourist may end up spending more on tips, than he budgeted for. Tennis and squash courts may be free to access, but most vacation packages do not include golfing charges. Mostly, vacationers are expected to rent a golf cart, but in comparison to the price of playing on most courses, this cost is relatively insignificant. On-property snorkeling is usually included, however, the other interesting underwater sights are generally off-site and involve additional fees.

Another costly activity is parasailing. Divers, too, may find all-inclusive vacations lucrative. Tanks have a separate charge, though diving excursions are included in some of the resorts. If the divers are not certified, most resorts offer a resort certification, which allows divers to go on personally supervised, guided dives. In case of already certified divers, some resorts offer a few tank dives a day, in their all-inclusive vacation packages. Many all-inclusive vacations include regular spa treatments, with the choice of paying for more intensive therapies.
